The Cast of Hamilton SHOULD NOT Apologize

On November 18, 2016, Mike Pence, who is the vice president for Presidential Elect Donald Trump, attended the play ‘Hamilton’. After the show ended, a brilliant Brandon Victor Dixon delivered a message to Pence.

We, sir — we — are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. We truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us. – Dixon (Melee & Healy, 2016)

After this event occurred, Trump sent out an inciting Tweet.  A damn tweet.

This is worse than when George Bush and Dick Cheney was in office.  That was my president growing up.  He was elected when I was 10 and I had to deal with that mess for 8 years.  You couldn’t say anything about Bush/Cheney without a barrage of nationalist attacks from right wingers and being casted as anti American.

But now, instead of Fox and some crazy on Facebook attacking you, the president is now personally attacking anyone who speaks out in protest of their administration.  I mean I have never seen a president take it to social media to confront deflectors and dissenters.  This is disgusting and childish.

The cast of Hamilton and Dixon should not only refuse to apologize, but they should add Dixon’s speech to the show.  How foolish and crazy is it that the president of the United States wants to oppress the freedoms expressed in the first amendment.

Trump should know that liberal media is going to attack and disseminate everything that Trump/Pence does for the upcoming 4 years.  This is probably only the beginning.

Please! Dixon and the cast of ‘Hamilton’, DON’T APOLOGIZE!
